Just because we are well into the month of August doesn’t mean that we are not still receiving new produce items from local farms on a weekly basis. This month we’ve got local, organic peaches, courtesy of Dwight Miller and Sons Orchard in Dummerston, Vermont.
This is the first time since 2013 that we have been able to offer these to customers. They will be going out in some of the boxes but are also available as an add-on. One way to enjoy these delicious peaches is to make peach sorbet. This tasty treat is the perfect frozen dessert to enjoy while you soak in the last couple weeks of August.
Riverland Farm continues to deliver amazing local produce from their farm in Sunderland, Massachusetts. This week, in addition to the wonderful cantaloupe and peppers they are going to be bringing garlic. Did we mention the peppers? The bell and sweet peppers that are coming in this week would be perfect to make stuffed peppers.
