This week's box features some veggies you know and love, like broccoli and potatoes, and at least one item (kohlrabi) that might have a few folks scratching their heads. Never fear. We've got a few outside the box ideas to turn both the familiar and unfamiliar into something fantastic.
North Country Nutrition is bringing us broccoli and, sure, you could steam it. But here are four ways to cook with broccoli that'll keep everyone in your house on their toes.
Potatoes
Many of this week's boxes feature potatoes from Atlas Farm, and what better food to make with potatoes then mashed potatoes? These Asiago Mashed Potatoes and Broccoli are all the things you love about mashed potatoes, but with more complex flavors and added nutrition.
Nearly all of this week's boxes will feature romaine lettuce from Atlas Farms, and while you could use it to add some crunch to your egg salad sandwich, consider firing up the grill instead. Here's a recipe for simple grilled romaine salad that'll have you reconsidering everything you thought you knew about lettuce.
And now for something completely different: kohlrabi. What is it? Kohlrabi is a biennial vegetable, and is a low, stout cultivar of cabbage. It can be eaten raw as well as cooked. Here are five ways to cook kohlrabi.
Have a delicious week!
