Reflections on the Stanford Meta-Study on Organic Foods

As you may have seen recently, a meta-study (an analysis of multiple studies) by researchers from Stanford University looked at the nutritional benefits of organic food. The study concluded that organic food isn’t any more nutritious than conventionally-grown foods that use pesticides.

Hollow Heart Potatoes

On occasion, some of the potatoes we receive from farms and deliver to the Boston Organics Community have "hollow heart," a discolored hole in the center of a healthy potato. Don't worry, our potatoes aren't sad. Hollow heart occurs when the potato grows too quickly and tears itself apart, often due to excessive moisture in the soil from too much rain or improper watering.
