Early summer is a season for thriving. As the weather gets warmer, we will continue to see more and more produce from our farm partners, including hakurei turnips this week. Produce in the field isn't all that's growing; our add-on list is constantly expanding as well. Tuesday, February 9th is Mardi Gras, the final day of a season of festivities and feasting. In New Orleans, revelers nosh on King Cake, muffuletta sandwiches, jambalaya and crawfish etoufée to begin the somber season of Lent with a bang. This week, we’re celebrating Mardi Gras New England style! The winter veggies of our northerly latitude merrily don the traditional Mardi Gras colors of green, gold and purple and parade throughout Boston on their green plastic floats.

Typical of this time of the year, leafy greens are in great abundance, while much of the rest of our favorite seasonal produce is still ripening on the vine. Organic chard, kale, spinach, lettuce and bok choy are all coming from Atlas Farm this week. We can't help but wonder, what are we supposed to do with all of these organic greens?!
