A weekly update from Boston Organics.
With another foot of snow expected in Boston this morning, winter really isn’t messing around, but neither are we.
To all of you whose deliveries were affected by the blizzard last week, we want to thank you for your patience. A citywide travel ban prevented us from making deliveries last Tuesday, but by the end of the week we were able to bring everyone in the Boston Organics Community their groceries while keeping our drivers safe and sound.
We’re including a copy of the Boston Organics 2015 Winter Produce Guide in your boxes this week with special tips for storing and cooking seasonal fruits and vegetables, so you’ll also be able to handle anything this winter throws your way!
This week, the boxes are filled with fresh, organic leeks, bell peppers and baby bok choy, the perfect combination for a quick Asian stir-fry. We also have fresh-cut rosemary, sweet organic carrots and enormous spaghetti squash from our network of local growers.
All of the ingredients for this week’s featured recipe, Curried Carrot and Sweet Potato Soup, are available in our growing inventory of grocery add-ons, including winter pantry staples like organic vegetable broth and coconut milk!
