Posted by Boston Organics on Jun 10, 2023 9:00:00 AM

Throughout the year, Boston Organics’ network of farm partners supplies us with fresh, local produce. These relationships are at the heart of what we do. One special star of the late spring/early summer local season, for more than 15 years, is Atlas Farms, which at the moment is keeping our Boston Organics Community in baby bok choy, leafy lettuces, kale and chard and collard greens. And as the season progresses we'll have summer squash, poblano peppers, fennel and evermore greens!

Keeping it GREEN on St. Patty's Day

Posted by Boston Organics on Mar 17, 2019 7:50:00 AM

Saint Patrick’s Day observes the death of Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. People spend the holiday celebrating Irish culture and traditions including parades, Irish step dancing, drinking green beer, or eating Irish cuisine. Different cities hold different traditions – Chicago colors the Chicago River green with a natural vegetable dye, and Hot Springs holds the world’s shortest parade (98 feet). While I don’t think Mayor Walsh will approve dying the Charles River green, we still have an awesome parade! Boston’s St. Patrick's Day parade will start Sunday March 17 at 1:00 pm at Broadway Station.

You'll encounter shiitakes in various forms in a lot of Asian cuisine, like miso soup and many stirfries. Today we've got a recipe that calls for roasting the mushrooms and we think you're going to love it.
