Labor Day is quickly approaching. For many of us that means a day off from work, for some it’s considered the unofficial end of summer, and in an era past it was also the day you packed up all of your white clothes. This Labor Day we're making it one where we remember some of the origins of the labor movement in the United States and the folks of the Pullman Strike for which the holiday was established.
We know, we know - it's not quite the end of summer yet. But with Labor Day just around the corner, we know many Boston Organics customers are starting to prepare for the impending school year and we are here to make sure everyone is ready to rise and shine for back-to-school! Your produce boxes will be full of fruits and veggies to form the base for healthy meals, and our wide selection of add-ons will help make sure you have everything you need without the hassle of the grocery store.

Last week we shared a bit about what a local and sustainable food system means to us and farmers and farm workers are the bedrock of that supply chain. We want to take some time to celebrate and appreciate many of the growers and farm teams that allow us to do the work that we do and to enjoy some of the most delicious organic produce in the region.
We’re getting into peak season for local produce here at Boston Organics. Our strong network of growers are increasing their availability each week with exciting new items populating our produce boxes like eggplant, hot peppers, and heirloom tomatoes. As we enter this time of year, we’d like to take a step back and share what it means to us to work within a sustainable and locally-based food system.
