We’re in the exciting process of reviewing last year’s produce with our growers and planning ahead for the upcoming local season. This week brings beautiful watermelon radishes and beets from Winter Moon Farm along with potatoes and purple top turnips from Nature's Circle Farm - both local Massachusetts farms.

But as the local supply starts to dwindle, we're expanding our add-on offerings to help you get a little more variety during this time of the year. In addition to our add-on staples like milk, eggs, bread, rice, pasta, quinoa, and more, we've now added a few exciting produce add-ons to brighten up your boxes. Check out this week's newsletter to find out what they are!

In spite of nasty weather across the country, some special organic citrus survived the freezes and have made their way to Boston Organics!

Blood oranges are one of our most delicious and colorful citrus fruits. Officially known as Moro oranges, one slice down the middle reveals how this fruit got its sanguineous nickname. High concentrations of anthocyanin, a pigment commonly found in flowers and a powerful antioxidant, gives the Moro orange its vibrant, blood-red flesh.

With fewer seeds than most oranges, it’s hard to find a tastier organic snack than blood oranges. Check out this week's newsletter to read more about our mid-winter citrus jubilee and find out what other fresh, organic produce is going out in boxes this week!

This is the time of the year when eccentric-looking root veggies abound. Red Fire Farm is bringing us a big harvest of organic celeriac, and we're excited to have this quirky root vegetable going out in a number of boxes this week.

You'll fall in love with celeriac, this Valentine's Day. But be careful, there are many things that you can say to your celeriac that we recommend you don't say to your Valentine. For example, "Your rough and hairy exterior makes you unappealing at first glance, and I'm intimidated to have you in my kitchen." Seriously, don't say that to your Valentine. Also, don't be intimidated.

Instead, read the newsletter and become an expert on celeriac. Also learn about local basil, crisp watermelon radishes, and the Fair Trade chocolate hearts that you can add to your boxes this week!
