They often say that before the food gets to our mouths that we eat with our eyes. All summer we have been talking about the many different local greens but now we get to talk about some different colors, blue, orange, red and yellow. These colors will be highlighted by the new and exciting local fruits and vegetables we have this week. Local vegetables have been very exciting so far this summer and they continue to be. This week also get to see an increase in number of local fruit that will be on display in many of the boxes and available as an add on.

We truly love the long summer here at Boston Organics, and not just because of the beautiful weather and enjoying all of the fun things to do around the city, or even the return of our staff's favorite television series. Summer is when we get to really showcase all the amazing farms that we have alliances with. Unlike the characters in Game of Thrones we dont have to fear that winter is coming just yet, so lets continue to enjoy the fruits of our long summer. Much like the airing of a new episode of Game of Thrones every week we get excited for the weekly deliveries from our farm partners.

Fresh from the Farm: Getting Cozy with Cool Weather Crops
After a long, hot summer, the cooler temperatures of the last week have offered something of a reprieve, and an opportunity to pull out our fall jackets, flannel shirts, and woolly socks. It's also a cue for the return of some of our favorite cool (though not yet cold) weather food and drink. Relish the beauty of October in New England with local fruit and vegetables delivered to your door.

Tonight is the first debate between presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. This much-anticipated face-off and the hotly contested primaries have dominated the news and conversation for months. Here at Boston Organics, we’re counteracting the stress, tension and noise of the election the best way we know how—cooking with fresh, organic ingredients. A side benefit of this method of coping is that it leaves the Boston Organics Community well-nourished and ready to be engaged citizens, whether by simply voting or getting involved in the campaign for a specific candidate or ballot question.

A weekly update from Boston Organics.
Though January may be a month of cold, quiet and subdued colors, the produce Boston Organics is delivering this week didn't get the message. This week's boxes include tasty treasures like crisp butter lettuce and intensely red blood oranges. We are grateful for all the nutrients packed into these brightly-colored foods, helping keep us healthy and well even when it's gray outside.
