2016 Local Season Recap

Boston Organics is grateful to all of our farm partners who supply us with nutritious local produce no matter the season. The days are becoming ever-shorter, the nights colder, and farmers are starting to put the land to bed for the winter. Though their work continues, we are past peak local season in New England. In this slower time, we take a moment to reflect on the growing season, and themes we noticed during our early September visit to Atlas Farm, Lakeside Organics of Hadley and Queen’s Greens, three of our farm partners in Massachusetts’ Pioneer Valley.

Last week, the Chicago Cubs broke their 108-year championship drought. Here in Boston, we have some experience with this: who can forget the night the curse of the Bambino was reversed? Cubs fans everywhere are learning what it’s like to suddenly be winners after years of heartbreak. It's a good opportunity for us all to bask in the glory of the season, both this historic baseball series, and the delicious local produce season. Even as the weather gets colder, you will feel like a winner with the gorgeous Boston Organics produce delivered right to your door.
